Innocence work, what it is, what it isn't

This is the first of three seminars that place a spotlight on the work of innocence organisations.

Drawing on the experience of the clinicians at University’s that are currently running law clinics which investigate claims of innocence (University of Greenwich, Manchester University and Griffith College, Ireland), these online free to attend seminars, run in conjunction with the Clinical Legal Education Organisation (CLEO) will create awareness of innocence work as clinical legal education (CLE).

In the first seminar Dr Louise Hewitt/ Professor Claire McGourlay/ Dr Edward Matthews discuss how to conduct an innocence investigation, the process of investigating a claim of innocence and the legal frameworks for England, Wales and Ireland.  They are joined by members of the Criminal Cases Review Commission CCRC who talk about where innocence work leads.
